Managing the transition
A completed building is only one part of the process necessary to deliver healthcare from the premises.
Whilst traditionally third party developer responsibility is simply for the delivery of the building, we have a major part to play in facilitating the building for the long term.
Our preparation for occupancy begins at the initial planning stage, as an inherent part of developing a strong working relationship with you, involving our property team and drawing on their operational expertise to explore with you how you will actually use the building.
This allows considered solutions to be incorporated into the brief and “designed in” rather than “worked out” around what has been built, as sadly is so often the case. This means that from the moment the premises are ready for opening the activity, joined up knowledge and delivery is immediately ready for implementation.
Our property team will be actively involved with you in the handover familiarisation and training to ensure your team are as familiar with the completed building as we are.

Informing the community
The community will have been involved throughout the process and informed accordingly so in the last stages of the build the awareness campaign is stepped up through PR and local advertising, if required, along with appropriate site signage and surgery information leaflets to totally inform all of the date of opening and what the offer is. The surgery, the practitioners, the extended services and pharmacy services if required are the key messages the public need to hear and we create smart, professional and innovative ways to communicate this effectively and generate local buzz and pride for the new offer.
Transition of premises
If required our in-house property management team will also be on hand to manage the physical changeover from your existing premises to handle the entire property closure and the efficient and eco disposal/transfer of fixtures and fittings. We can also manage the migration of telephony and I.T. and effective data protection procedures to move hard copy patient files from one premises to another.
